01. THE ORIGIN
CityServe strategically partners with established businesses across Canada to redirect new, returned, and overstocked items (known as: goods-in-kind) to make a difference in our communities, in avoidance of landfills or recycling plants.
02. THE HUB WAREHOUSE
Goods-in-kind are distributed to our Hub Partners across Canada. Hubs are charities or non-profit foundations with the warehouse capacity to store goods and resources for redistribution.
Each Hub is equipped with storage systems, inventory management, staff, moving equipment, and the ability to transport goods to and from the warehouse. Through volunteer efforts, goods are organized into categories that are appropriately redistributed to local organizations who support individuals and families in their communities.
03. THE DISTRIBUTION
At CityServe we have two types of Distribution Partners who are a conduit for ensuring the goods-in-kind get into the hands of those who need it most:
✅ A “Point Of Distribution” (POD) is developed in local organizations in partnership with CityServe. PODs operate as a resource centre for individuals and families they serve. They have the capacity to receive from local CityServe Hubs practical items on scale and circulate to the community.
✅ Compassion Partners are organizations that receive goods in kind for a specific driven cause to give out to those they serve in tangible ways. This could range from specific community events to families or individuals they are supporting.
04. THE RECIPIENT
After an intentional journey, new goods (that were headed to landfills) have been fully redirected and placed in the hands of those who can benefit from them most! Meeting people’s needs in such a tangible way is truly a driving force for change, restoring dignity, and helping to break the cycle of financial insecurity.
